Trump Expresses Concern Over Ebola Outbreak After Confirmation of US Case
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he is “concerned” about what he described as an Ebola “breakout,” following confirmation by health authorities that an American has been infected, according to reports.
When asked by a reporter whether he was worried about the situation, he responded, “I am concerned about everything, but certainly am.”
He added that the situation, in his view, has so far been largely contained within Africa, while still describing it as an outbreak.
Heidi Overton, a senior White House official responsible for domestic policy, said the administration has activated an interagency response to address the viral case. She confirmed that an American patient developed symptoms after exposure to the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus and is being transported to Germany for medical treatment.
