The new cabinet includes several figures drawn from business and corporate sectors, reflecting Magyar’s stated intention to incorporate private-sector expertise into government leadership.
Among the appointed ministers is Gabor Posfai, a former Decathlon executive, who will serve as interior minister. Istvan Kapitany, previously an executive at Shell, has been named economy and energy minister, while Anita Orban, formerly responsible for public affairs at Vodafone, will take the role of foreign minister.
The government team also includes Andras Miklos Karman, a senior executive at banking group Erste, appointed as finance minister, along with Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, a former commander of the Hungarian Defense Forces, who will serve as defense minister.
Hungary’s National Assembly is expected to meet later on Tuesday, where Magyar is set to formally present his cabinet before the ministers take their oath of office.
The Tisza party, led by Magyar, won the April 12 parliamentary elections by defeating Viktor Orban, bringing an end to his 16-year tenure in power.
