US, Israel Prepare for Possible Renewed Strikes on Iran

(MENAFN) According to reports, the United States and Israel are actively preparing for a possible resumption of hostilities with Iran, with renewed attacks potentially beginning as early as next week, a media outlet reported, citing unnamed sources.

The report states that indirect negotiations between Iran and the Trump White House have remained stalled since a fragile ceasefire was reached in April after more than a month of fighting. Both sides have continued to reject each other’s conditions, with Tehran and Washington each maintaining that they hold the advantage.

Meanwhile, tensions in the Strait of Hormuz reportedly remain high, with ongoing disruptions continuing to affect global shipping and contributing to oil shortages in international markets.

Iran has introduced what it describes as a mechanism to manage maritime traffic in the area, while Washington has rejected the move and is enforcing a naval blockade on Iranian ports in response, according to reports.

Two unnamed Middle East officials told the media outlet that preparations for new Israeli and US strikes have accelerated significantly in recent days, raising the possibility that the conflict could resume within the coming week, according to the sources.
